Eusol Solution (Edinburgh University Solution of Lime) is a topical antiseptic used for wound disinfection, ulcer cleaning, and wet dressing. It contains boric acid and chlorinated lime (calcium hypochlorite), which prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, creating a clean environment for healing. Applied to clean wounds or ulcers using a moistened cloth or cotton pad, it promotes recovery, reduces inflammation, and supports moist wound healing to minimize scarring. It’s also used for minor cuts, burns, and surgical wounds. Side effects may include mild skin irritation or, rarely, allergic reactions like swelling or hives; discontinue use if severe. Avoid in patients with eczema or similar skin conditions. Use only externally as directed by a healthcare provider, and store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
