Melasma serum is a topical skincare product formulated to reduce hyperpigmentation and even skin tone in melasma. It often contains active ingredients like hydroquinone (2–4%), niacinamide, kojic acid, or vitamin C, which inhibit melanin production and promote cell turnover. Applied 1–2 times daily to clean, affected areas, it helps fade dark patches over weeks to months. Mild irritation or dryness may occur; sunscreen is essential due to increased sun sensitivity.
